Pay Range $75,000 - $90,000
Must reside on Marthas Vineyard
Position Summary: This position will require monitoring all drivers on Marthas Vineyard and assisting where needed. It is important to make sure all drivers are back at the Steam Ship dock in time to make reservation. Making sure we are hitting delivery windows, getting invoices signed, scanning above 90% and communicating any issues to dispatch is crucial. Following SOP’s and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal transportation regulations.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of Marthas Vineyard driver personnel which includes the following.
- Making sure all drivers are back at the Steam Ship dock in time to make reservation.
- Making sure we are hitting delivery windows.
- Making sure invoices are getting signed.
- Making sure drivers are logged into Mobile Conductor and scanning above 90%.
- communicating any issues to dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all USDOT requirements as well as those of other regulatory bodies related to vehicle use and maintenance, safe operation of vehicles, and required medical certifications.
- Train Marthas Vineyard drivers to follow all transportation SOP’s.
- Maintain fuel levels, def levels and communicate any truck issues with transportation Fleet Supervisor for the delivery truck that is stationed on Marthas Vineyard.
- Ensure that vehicles are clean and meet maintenance standards and requirements
- Respond to and resolves customer complaints, including immediate problem-solving, coordinating response with appropriate sales personal and applying corrective action and/or discipline as required.
- Evaluate employee performance on an ongoing basis
- Making sure all Marthas Vineyard drivers are logged into Samsara and completing pre trips and post trips.
- Maintain a relationship with taxi service currently being used for one of our routes.
- Drive routes as needed to carry out the operation’s delivery obligations.
- Conduct weekly meetings to inform staff of new procedures and other company-wide information.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, Purchasing and Sales personnel to ensure information is accurate and comprehensive.
About you:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent certification.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Must Pass a DOT physical
- Experience driving and parking large vehicles.
- Able to lift 25 pounds.
- Experience using hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts a plus.
- Professional with a pleasant disposition and able to give all clients a positive customer service experience.
- Candidate should be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills required.
